Review: The Inner Circle

The Inner Circle The Inner Circle by Brad Meltzer
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

After being distracted by other books and participating my first reading challenge last year, I finally finished this book. I really wish it did not take so long for the book to get going. I did enjoy the book once it got going, but it took me two years to pick it back up because other books were grabbing my attention faster than this one did. I do love the conspiracy theory type books, so I will reading the rest of the series to see where it goes.

Review: Infinity's Illusion

Infinity's Illusion Infinity's Illusion by Richard Farr
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I am not really sure how I feel about this one. There is a random history/science lesson in the middle of the book that seemed to come from nowhere. I did enjoy the food for thought concepts that the book offered, but the book was so rushed that it got a little confusing.

Review: Communion: The Turning Book Three

Communion: The Turning Book Three Communion: The Turning Book Three by Micky Neilson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received an advanced e-book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

This book picks up where book 1 left off, however, I do recommend reading the books in the order the author intended. Book 4 is supposed to revisit the characters of book 2. Essentially, the even numbered books are like flashbacks/cut scenes you would see in a movie (so far at least).

Once the book got going, it was really hard to put down. I dare say this book was better than the first.

Review: Ghosts in the Machine

Ghosts in the Machine Ghosts in the Machine by Richard Farr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received a Kindle edition of this book through a Goodreads Giveaway.

This book brought up some interesting food for thought with regards to what consciousness actually is and when it came about. The pages and pages of Morag's inner thoughts, particularly about Kit, started to get to be a bit much after a while. Other than that, the book was a decent read. On to book 3!

Review: The Fire Seekers

The Fire Seekers The Fire Seekers by Richard Farr
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Reading this was like stepping into an episode of Ancient Aliens only a dramatic fictional version. It was page turner and fast read. I do love the universal questions this book explores. Ancient history has always fascinated me. I am definitely jumping into the next book! It was a great way to pass the time during my lunch breaks.

Review: Black Death at the Golden Gate: The Race to Save America from the Bubonic Plague

Black Death at the Golden Gate: The Race to Save America from the Bubonic Plague Black Death at the Golden Gate: The Race to Save America from the Bubonic Plague by David K. Randall
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received an ARC of this book through a Goodreads Giveaway.

I never knew the bubonic plague made it to the US until I read this book. This is not a book for germaphobes. I also found it interesting that some of the political tactics and games politicians play are still the same a century later.

Review: City of Ghosts

City of Ghosts City of Ghosts by J.H. Moncrieff
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was suspenseful and keep me turning pages. This was a very good ghost story. If I didn't have a fear of traveling, I would visit and experience China. I would love to visit places similar to what the book describes.

I read this book as part of the PopSugar Reading Challenge 2019 - A ghost story.
