Review: The Witch and the Guillotine

The Witch and the Guillotine The Witch and the Guillotine by Daniel Sugar
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I received a Kindle edition of this book through a Goodreads Giveaway.

This is another fun, fast read. The first book was set in Salem (1692), the second in Paris (French Revolution), and it seems the third will be set in Russia. I hope book 3 runs does not follow a formula ((view spoiler)) and is unique.

Review: Salem Burning

Salem Burning Salem Burning by Daniel Sugar
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

While I enjoyed the plot, this book really needs some editing. Too many quotations where they shouldn't be, for example. It can be distracting at times. As I stated, I did enjoy the plot. I will read book 2 to see where the author goes with this story line.

Review: The Weddings

The Weddings The Weddings by Alexander Chee
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

While I did not hate the story, I really wasn't into it either. The plot didn't really go anywhere.

Review: The Lion's Den

The Lion's Den The Lion's Den by Anthony Marra
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I mostly enjoyed this story. The ending leaves an opening to explore more about this story and I hope the author expands on it.

Review: Can You Feel This?

Can You Feel This? Can You Feel This? by Julie Orringer
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I did not really enjoy this story. I found the writing style very distracting. I also did not connect to the story. Maybe if I were a mother, I might have connected to it.
